About Jeppson Law and the Clean Legal Bill of Health®. Jeppson Law, LLP is a law firm. The Clean Legal Bill of Health® ("CLBH™") is a Jeppson Law product: a preventive legal framework that includes a free self-assessment checkup, educational resources, and a paid legal audit. Using the Website, taking the checkup, downloading a resource, or purchasing a digital product does not create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship with Jeppson Law, LLP is formed only by a separate written engagement agreement signed by the firm. See our Terms and Conditions of Use for details.

1. Personal Information We Collect

a. Information you provide to us. We collect information you choose to give us, including:

  • Identity and contact information: your name, email address, telephone number, and business name;

  • Checkup responses: your answers to the Clean Legal Bill of Health® checkup, which may include business information you choose to share, such as your industry, approximate annual revenue range, entity and ownership structure, contracts, insurance, employment practices, and other legal-health information;

  • Call bookings: the information you submit when you book a call with us through our scheduling provider, Clio Grow;

  • Purchases: your name, email address, and billing information when you buy a digital product. Payments are processed by Stripe through our website platform, Squarespace. We do not store your full card number;

  • Workshop registrations: information you submit to register for or attend a workshop (collected through our event registration provider, Eventbrite);

  • Email and content sign-ups: the email address and any details you provide to receive newsletters, updates, or gated educational resources (collected and managed through our email provider, Kit, formerly ConvertKit);

  • Communications: information you include when you contact us through a contact form, by email, by phone, or otherwise.

b. Information we collect automatically ("Device Information"). When you visit the Website, we automatically collect information about your device and use of the Website, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, time zone, the pages and content you view, the website or search terms that referred you, and how you interact with the Website. We collect Device Information using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, and pixels, including through Google Analytics and Squarespace Analytics. Our Website is hosted by Squarespace, which processes server log data on our behalf.

c. Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from the service providers and platforms we use (for example, our email, scheduling, payment, event registration, analytics, and security providers).

In this Policy, "personal information" refers to both Device Information and the information you provide, to the extent it identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to you.

2. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide the Website and generate your checkup results and educational report;

  • Deliver the resources, checklists, digital products, newsletters, and workshop access you request;

  • Schedule and prepare for calls and consultations you book with us;

  • Respond to your inquiries and communicate with you;

  • With your consent or as otherwise permitted by law, send you educational and marketing communications (you may opt out at any time);

  • Operate, secure, maintain, analyze, and improve the Website and screen for fraud or misuse; and

  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms and Conditions of Use.

3. The Checkup and Your Business Information

The Clean Legal Bill of Health® checkup is an educational tool. Your responses may include sensitive business information. We use those responses to generate your color-coded results and educational report and, where you request it or it is otherwise appropriate, to prepare for a call or consultation with you.

Submitting the checkup or any information through the Website does not create an attorney-client relationship, is not legal advice, and is not a legal audit or opinion. Please do not submit confidential or time-sensitive information through the Website. See our Terms and Conditions of Use for more information.

4. How We Share Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below:

  • Service providers: vendors that perform services for us, such as website hosting and commerce (Squarespace), payment processing (Stripe), scheduling (Clio Grow), email marketing and delivery (Kit / ConvertKit), event registration (Eventbrite), analytics (Google Analytics), and security and fraud-prevention providers, who are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us;

  • Legal and safety: to comply with applicable law, respond to a subpoena, warrant, or other lawful request, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of any person; and

  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business or assets.

5. Cookies, Tracking, and Your Choices

We use three kinds of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies keep the Website and checkout working;

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Squarespace Analytics) help us understand how visitors use the Website; and

  • Marketing cookies and pixels (for example, from our email provider) help us measure our emails and advertising.

When you first visit the Website, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can also refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings; some Website features may not work if you disable essential cookies. We honor browser-based privacy controls, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), as a valid opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" where required by applicable law. Because there is no common industry standard, we do not currently respond to other "Do Not Track" signals.

6. Email Marketing

If you sign up for our emails, download a gated resource in exchange for your email address, take the checkup, or register for a workshop, you agree to receive related communications, such as newsletters, updates, and educational content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. Transactional messages (for example, your requested resource, purchase receipt, or booking confirmation) are not marketing and may still be sent.

7. Your U.S. State Privacy Rights

California (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right, subject to verification and certain exceptions, to:

  • Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of recipients;

  • Delete personal information we collected from you;

  • Correct inaccurate personal information;

  • Opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information;

  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information; and

  • Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

You may submit a request using the contact information in Section 13, or, where applicable, through a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on the Website. You may use an authorized agent. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, California residents may also request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights, and you may appeal a denied request by contacting us.

Utah (Utah Consumer Privacy Act). If you are a Utah resident, you have the right, subject to verification and certain exceptions, to confirm whether we process your personal data and access it, delete personal data you provided, obtain a portable copy of that data, and opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13.

Other states. Where other state privacy laws apply to you, we honor comparable rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information and to opt out of targeted advertising and sale, as required by applicable law. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request and respond within the time required by law.

8. Visitors From Outside the United States

The Website is operated in the United States and intended for users in the United States, primarily California and Utah. If you access the Website from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Website and the resources and products you request, to operate and improve our services, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, and then securely delete or de-identify it. We generally retain checkup responses and contact information until you ask us to delete them or until they are no longer needed for the purposes described in this Policy.

10. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no website, electronic transmission, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You provide information at your own risk.

11. Children's Privacy

The Website is intended for business owners and other adults 18 years of age or older. It is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Third-Party Websites

This Policy applies only to the Website. It does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to or that link to us, including Clio Grow, Stripe, Eventbrite, Kit, or social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.

13. Changes; Complaints; Contact Us
